Barnes & Noble has introduced a stripped-down version of its Nook Tablet as it looks for ways to compete with Amazon's low-cost Kindle Fire. The new Nook, which is $50 cheaper than its predecessor, has 8 gigabytes of internal storage and half the RAM of the original, but has the same dual-core, 1GHz processor and expandable memory options.
