Wind power now accounts for about 5% of California's electricity supply, after 921 megawatts of wind power capacity was added in the state last year, according to the California Wind Energy Association. Last year "was a banner year for wind generation in California," said Nancy Rader, executive director of CalWEA. "Wind has come a long way and is helping to drive California closer to reaching its goal of 33% renewable energy."
