Carlson's Radisson brand completed renovations on 25% of its properties at the end of 2011 and expects to reach 50% by the end of 2012, said Carlson CEO Hubert Joly. Carlson recently opened its first Radisson Blu property in the U.S. in Chicago, which has received positive feedback from customers, Joly said. "The customer response is very strong, so certainly this is signaling a trend that started in Europe -- and is now in Asia as well -- for very vibrant design-led brands," he said.
