The deconstruction of nine buildings on the site of the future PNC Financial Services Group's new 33-story skyscraper in Pittsburgh won't be using explosives so that the construction debris can be recycled. "That's the standard now. We do it for every single project," said Fred Solomon, a PNC spokesman. "We recycle as much as we can and deliver as little waste as possible to landfills." The $400 million skyscraper will be open for occupancy by June 1, 2015.
