Patients with diabetes-related neuropathy had sudomotor denervation, which appeared as diminished periglandular nerve fibers with lower sweat gland innervation index, compared with control subjects, a study in Diabetes Care revealed. Researchers also found that SGII was associated with A1C levels and that patients with anhidrosis of the feet had lower SGII than those whose feet had normal sweating.
