People pelted one another with oranges on Sunday in the Italian city of Ivrea as part of a traditional celebration. The fruit-based battle is meant to recall an event that supposedly happened in the 12th century, when, according to legend, a miller's daughter cut off the head of an evil lord. "Our carnival is a family tradition, it's the tradition of our parents, it's something that is close to our hearts," said one resident.
