Energy Secretary Steven Chu should come up with a plan this month for the commercial production of nuclear fuel from a uranium-tail stockpile at USEC's Paducah facility in Kentucky, three members of the state's congressional delegation said, arguing that such a move would generate "billions in revenue." The Department of Energy needs to act before USEC is "forced" to shut down the plant when its power-supply contract expires in May, the lawmakers said.
