Nstar, as part of its merger with Northeast Utilities, has agreed to buy 129 megawatts of capacity from Cape Wind Associates' offshore-wind project in Nantucket Sound. The deal has been approved by Massachusetts regulators. Along with National Grid's plan to buy 234 MW from the offshore-wind project, Nstar's decision means Cape Wind has secured buyers for 77.5% of the project's output, said Mark Rodgers, a spokesman for Cape Wind. "We believe these two contracts will be enough for us to get financing," Rodgers said.
