The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association has launched an ad campaign in Oregon highlighting how pharmacy benefit managers help consumers and payers lower prescription drug spending. "We're looking at this as an opportunity to educate key decision-makers in Oregon on the safety and savings benefits PBMs provide," said PCMA Assistant Vice President of Strategic Communications Charles Coté. PBMs will save their customers about $20 billion in Oregon over the next 10 years by negotiating better prices and managing formularies, or drug lists, intended to encourage use of less-expensive drugs.
