A study in the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology found greater use of psychotrophic medications among adolescents with both autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder than those with ASD or ADHD alone. Black adolescents with ASD alone or both ASD and ADHD were less likely to receive medications than their white counterparts.
