Seventh-grade student Cris Colaluca, who has spina bifida and other medical conditions that make it difficult for him to attend school, participates in classroom activities from home using a mobile robot called a VGo. The robot has a microphone, camera and video display, all of which Colaluca can control through a computer mouse, as the robot navigates anywhere in the school. "In the past, we used technology to bring the world to Cris. Now it allows Cris to come to the world," Kathy Kwolek, district superintendent, said.
