School district officials in Sinton, Texas, are considering their options concerning a federally funded initiative to install two wind turbines at a high school after the Sinton Board of Adjustments rejected variances that would have allowed the project to meet city regulations. The district respects the city board's decision, "but we also have a responsibility to make sure that any option that's available to our board of trustees" will be considered, said Superintendent Steve VanMatre. The district could move forward with the project on the grounds that the city's ordinance on wind turbines aren't applicable to the potential turbine installation, VanMatre said.
