The Tennessee Valley Authority will need more time and funding to complete the second reactor at its Watts Bar nuclear facility in Tennessee. Potential additional safety requirements for new reactors in the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi incident in Japan and the slow installation of equipment are among the causes of the delay, TVA officials said. The utility is conducting a new study on the completion schedule and costs for the unit, said Tom Kilgore, TVA's president and CEO.
