Classes in beginning and advanced American Sign Language are being offered at Kelly Walsh High School, in Casper, Wyo., as an option for fulfilling the students' foreign-language requirement. The courses include instruction in ASL vocabulary and grammar, as well as participation in community events for individuals who cannot hear. Since their creation in 2010, the courses have enrolled students with and without hearing impairments, plus those who want to improve communication with friends and relatives who cannot hear.
