Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile USA are increasing their capital spending to beef up their 4G wireless networks, according to a research note from analyst George Notter of Jefferies & Co., who predicts that AT&T and Sprint Nextel will follow suit. Notter notes that that while first-quarter spending remained sluggish, equipment-makers are increasingly upbeat that carriers will escalate their spending on Long-Term Evolution infrastructure throughout 2012.
