Cable providers narrowed their customer losses in the final quarter of 2011, shedding 318,000 video subscribers, compared with 556,000 for the same quarter in 2010, according to Sanford Bernstein analyst Craig Moffett. Comcast saw the greatest improvement, losing 17,000 video customers, compared with 135,000 for the same period in 2010. Time Warner Cable shed 129,000 video subscribers, compared with 141,000 in Q4 of 2010; Charter Communications lost 46,000, compared with 62,000; and Cablevision declined 14,000, compared with 35,000.
