Regular statin users were 26% less likely to develop Parkinson's disease than those who didn't use statins, according to a study in the Archives of Neurology. Researchers noted that about 70% of cholesterol-lowering drug users at baseline were actually using statins. The findings were based on outcomes from 38,192 men from the Health Professional Follow-up Study and 90,874 women from the Nurses' Health Study.
