A designer's hard work can go down the drain if fonts don't render properly for the end-user, writes Tim Ahrens. Increasing display resolutions will make life easier on that front in coming years, allowing font-designers to offer up simpler Web fonts. "While most Web fonts currently on the market are TrueType-flavored, I am expecting that the industry will largely switch to PostScript, which is the native format nearly all type designers work in," Ahrens writes.
