Bosses who have an inflated sense of their own abilities are more likely to drive their company off a cliff, but they're also more likely to foster meaningful innovation, researchers say. Companies led by bosses possessed of "unbridled confidence and arrogance" were more likely to hit the innovation jackpot, even after accounting for R&D spending. "[O]verconfidence remains a strong and significant predictor of innovation," the researchers write.
