Devon Energy will study 10 new conventional oil and natural gas plays in Canada this year, a company official said. "We know that many of the Canadian engineers are having success in these plays, but the question is ... whether the scale will be big enough for Devon," said Dave Hager, the company's executive vice president of exploration and production. Devon expects to drill 90 wells in Western Canada, where it owns more than 1.6 million hectares of oil and natural gas drilling rights, Hager said.
