Project ECHO, launched by gastroenterologist Dr. Sanjeev Arora at the University of New Mexico to provide consultations that help primary care physicians better treat hepatitis C, has expanded to include geriatrics, palliative care, asthma, rheumatology and other diagnoses. The program has addressed quality of care in rural areas and for diverse patient populations in urban settings, and has helped more than 5,000 HCV patients gain access to treatment.
