Missouri-based Able Manufacturing & Assembly's wind turbine parts business grew into a multimillion-dollar operation in just three years, but the company's gains could be wiped out if Congress allows the renewable-energy Production Tax Credit to lapse at the end of the year, said AM&A President and CEO Jim Schwarz. Orders are already starting to drop off due to the uncertainty over the PTC, said Schwarz, adding that he could lose between 50% and 75% of his wind power business if the PTC expires. "What we're seeing right now is a large increase in orders that we won't see going much past September at this time," he said.
