Hotels should see a continued rise in revenue per available room on strong rates growth, at least until new construction comes online in a few years and drives supply upward, writes Jan Freitag, senior vice president of global development at STR. "As new supply projects hit the pipeline and then open, supply growth could outpace demand growth, and then occupancies would decline and pricing power could ebb," Freitag writes.
