Work at the Carbon Neutral Energy Solutions Laboratory at Georgia Institute of Technology will focus on carbon sequestration research and other technologies that will aid the construction industry in building net-zero structures. The building was designed as "a high-energy-use facility to a low-energy-use standard," and is expected to earn LEED Platinum when it is finished this fall. The project's design-build contractors, HDR Architecture and Gilbane Building Co., used building information modeling to coordinate a tight construction schedule.
