At two schools in New Zealand, students now have added meditation and philosophy to their class schedule. Educators say the lessons are intended to help students relax and also develop their thinking skills. "In this day and age, when everybody can be really busy, we think teaching kids the skill of slowing down and just having a bit of quiet time is a life skill, really," said principal Celeste Hastings. "It's asking them to stop and just be a little bit reflective."
