Patients with type 2 diabetes not on insulin who monitored their blood glucose levels at least once daily attained the greatest improvements in A1C compared with those who checked less frequently and those who did not check at all, a study found. Regular blood glucose monitoring was also associated with increased medication adherence in patients, researchers said. The results appear in Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics.
