A survey of 7,600 U.S. adults showed that those who got 2.5 to 7.5 hours per week of exercise had better mental health, Columbia University researchers reported in Preventive Medicine. However, they found that exercising beyond 7.5 hours led to an increase in symptoms of depression and anxiety in men and women and across age groups.
