Overweight and obese people who used Weight Watchers lost about as many pounds as those who used a diet program led by health professionals, according to a study in the journal Obesity. Researchers found that more than one-third of people on Weight Watchers lost 10% or more of their starting weight, compared with 15% who had Weight Watchers and help from professionals and 11% who only were enrolled in the professional weight-loss program.
