Abengoa, ZeaChem, Novozymes North America and DuPont Industrial Biosciences reaffirmed their commitment to develop advanced biofuels after BP's announcement last week that it was backing away from its cellulosic ethanol project in Florida. "America needs a mix of domestically-made renewable fuels to keep fuel affordable for US drivers, improve our security and protect the environment -- and that's why continued investment in advanced biofuels makes sense," said Novozymes North America President Adam Monroe. BP said it will find ways to commercialize its cellulosic ethanol technology while keeping its operations in Brazil and the U.K.
