SAP is creating "a type of Match.com for businesses" out of its Ariba acquisition, according to SAP Senior Vice President of Global Network Strategy Tim Minahan. The Ariba Discovery software matches global suppliers to buyers and predicts how a supplier will perform in the next two years with respect to fulfilling demand. SAP will not only make money on the transactions, but it will generate another revenue stream by analyzing the data derived from them.
