The Florida Supreme Court upheld a state law prohibiting defendants' lawyers in malpractice lawsuits from meeting privately with plaintiffs' other doctors or dentists, even if only to discuss non-privileged matters. The judgment addresses a case in which a lawyer hired by dentist's insurance company sought to discuss aspects of a case with an oral surgeon who subsequently treated the plaintiff. The oral surgeon was also covered by the insurer.
