Nearly 53% of Colorado's Latino population, 39.1% of whites and 29.9% of African-Americans lack dental insurance, and close to 61% of Coloradans older than 65 lack coverage, according to a study by the Colorado Trust. The number of children with dental coverage rose by 66,300, but fewer children visited the dentist. The survey also found lacked dental insurance. Experts are urging the state to include adult dental care as an essential benefit in plans offered on the state's health insurance exchange.
