A survey of 5,681 12- to 18-year-olds showed that those involved in dating violence were more likely to suffer behavioral problems or be in aggressive relationships as young adults. Female victims of teen dating violence were more prone to heavy drinking, smoking, depression and suicidal thoughts five years later, while male victims reported more antisocial behaviors, researchers wrote in the journal Pediatrics.
