U.S. deaths in Afghanistan are set to decrease for the second consecutive year, as 301 Americans have died in Afghanistan this year, compared with 500 in 2010, according to USA Today. "A year ago we were taking larger amounts of casualties than [Afghan security forces] were," said Marine Maj. Gen. Charles "Mark" Gurganus. "It is absolutely 180 [degrees] out now," he said.
