Support groups targeted at this age group can be especially helpful for women to cope with the emotional challenges of cancer. “The people you’re with don’t know what’s going on in your head. It’s very tough, just wondering what’s down the road and knowing anything could happen,” said Dawn Irwin-Groleau, a 43-year-old breast cancer survivor.
