Corporate recruiting has changed so much over the past 20 years that few outside the profession understand what the job entails or how comprehensive most companies' hiring processes are, Ben Gotkin writes. Furthermore, companies disagree on the competencies that corporate recruiters are supposed to possess. In order for the field to grow and become more respected, consistent standards and training models for recruiters must emerge, Gotkin writes.
