A federal appeals court's decision to vacate the 2012 cellulosic biofuel target under the Renewable Fuel Standard does not mean the target will be scrapped, according to Bob Dinneen, president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association. The ruling simply means the Environmental Protection Agency should present a better reason for setting the target, Dinneen said. The oil industry's claim that the ruling will repeal the cellulosic ethanol requirement is "the height of deception," he said.
