DISH Network announced it will not oppose Softbank's acquisition of Sprint Nextel, two weeks after asking federal regulators to suspend their investigation of the deal. In a letter, the satellite provider told the Federal Communications Commission that it has decided to let the deal proceed and that it was in "continued negotiations" to buy Clearwire. The Department of Justice has stepped in, however, to ask the FCC to suspend its Softbank proceedings while it reviews the deal, a step that Sprint termed as routine. Verizon Wireless has also weighed in on Sprint's bid to buy Clearwire, asking the FCC to determine if the arrangement would result in Sprint accumulating too much 2.5 GHz spectrum.
