Widespread cuts to federal funding, including education, have been spared -- at least temporarily -- by a last-minute deal reached by federal lawmakers and signed into law by President Barack Obama that delays sequestration until March. However, the deal includes $6 billion in cuts to domestic programs, which could affect education. The delay means there will be fresh debate over potential spending cuts, as well as continued uncertainty for school districts.
