Users of Apple's iPhone 5 and Samsung's Galaxy S III consumed the most data in a survey of European consumers in which non-Apple tablets placed in the top 10 for the first time, according to Arieso, a British-based network management software firm. Smartphones placed six devices in the top 10, and the top 1% of users accounted for 40% of the total data consumption. An Arieso executive predicted that carriers would deploy small cells in large numbers in order to relieve network traffic jams.
