The head of the Federal Communications Commission told a gathering of the nation's mayors on Friday that the agency will help expand "ultra-high-speed" Internet access to all 50 states over the next two years. Chairman Julius Genachowski said the FCC's Gigabit City Challenge will rely on an online clearinghouse to solicit input from providers, and at least one municipality in each state should have access to gigabit Internet speeds by 2015.
