Maine's Board of Environmental Protection expressed unanimous support of a preliminary motion to ban the use of bisphenol-A in infant formula cans and baby food packaging. If the measure passes a final vote, it could be adopted into law by the state legislature. The motion, however, did not extend the ban to include toddler food packaging because it would be difficult to define what food is specifically aimed at children under 3.
