Researchers tracked more than 500 stroke survivors in the U.S. and found 65% of those with PTSD did not follow their drug regimens, almost twice the rate for those without the condition. "We believe that these findings suggest that stroke survivors with PTSD do not see their medications as helpful, but rather as reminders of their stroke," said Donald Edmondson, lead author of the study in the British Journal of Health Psychology.
