Mills in Brazil's center-south region will likely increase ethanol production by 14% this year as the government prepares to reinstate the country's 25% ethanol blend rate, said Maurilio Biagi Filho, founder and CEO of milling group Grupo Maubisa. The region will produce 6.6 billion gallons of ethanol this year, up from 5.8 billion in 2012, he said.
