All schools in Michigan would have equal per-pupil funding within 10 years under a joint resolution introduced by state Sen. Rick Jones, R-Grand Ledge. Currently, school funding ranges from about $7,000 per student in some districts to more than $10,000 per student in others, said Jones, who has introduced other proposals related to education funding. The resolution likely faces a difficult road to passage because it requires a change to the state constitution.
