Search ad spending on mobile devices increased 79% last year, compared with 2011 figures, and the number of clicks generated saw a year-over-year increase of 89%, according to a report by The Search Agency. As a proportion of all search ad spending, mobile accounted for 15.6% while generating 23.4% of all clicks, with more than half of mobile spending directed to tablets over smartphones.
