The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has contacted around 3,500 individuals whose personal data was compromised when two of the facility's servers were hacked. The breach was discovered in May, but the center examined all of the files by hand that could have possibly been affected, so notification did not go out until recently. Overall, the information of fewer than 15 people who participated in studies at the center was thought to be involved in the breach.
