Overweight and obese children were more likely to have three or more reported medical, mental or developmental conditions compared with those at a healthier weight, according to a study in the journal Academic Pediatrics. Obese children had a higher risk of emotional and behavioral problems, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, depression, developmental delays, asthma, allergies, headaches and ear infections, among other problems, the study found.
