Beginning next school year, Ohio students will have to earn four math credits to graduate and Algebra II must be among those earned credits, school officials say. To give students a buffer in case they struggle with a math class, Cincinnati Public Schools is adopting a K-6 and 7-12 configuration for most schools. Officials say they hope giving students six years instead of four to complete four math classes will bolster achievement.
