The Piedmont, Okla., city council voted to postpone a decision on a petition by a group of landowners for detachment and de-annexation of their property from the city. Some of the landowners, who have leased their property to Apex Wind Energy for a proposed wind project, filed the petition partly because of concerns that an ordinance passed last month limiting the height of wind turbines would adversely affect the project. Apex Wind Energy, which has decided to take its wind project outside of city limits, is not involved in the de-annexation petition, said development manager Kent Dougherty.
